So, the guy that bought my boat wasn't too happy, even though it was sold as a project, on a trailer , with a running 225 2 stroke, for $5k.

Said I hosed him.

I think I saw this boat in Morehead City, NC. "Get the Net Chaters". Boat looked good for 5k. It had a Suzuki 4stroke.

Nat spent over 6 weeks re-glassing major structural damage, and is still finding leaks. Seller (whoever that was surely not billybob) claimed that the delam was just "surface stuff." The unannounced damage added thousands of dollars to the redo, and literally weeks of additional work. I don't think Nat would have bought the boat if the extent of the damage has been known. Not saying the previous owner knew about it (could have been the previous previous owner) but I saw under that delam and someone smoked something at speed and it was never repaired correctly. 5K was a good price, agreed. I don't think the price was ever an issue. It was that a lot more work was needed to get the boat seaworthy than was originally stated.

Anyway. He did a great job, boat is back on the water. Billybob, you find a 20 to redo yet? He still has your old OMC225 if you want to buy it back, which would fit nicely on a 20 I saw out in Chatham. I can forward you the guys contact info. "margaritaville" or something on the side. It's behind the gas station, next to ocean state job lob on 28, if anyone else knows anything about that boat.

Also, you got any pics of the el camino? Looking forward to seeing that beast when you get it done!

yes I did get over it. It took me a lot more time and cost me a good bit more money because of the major structural damage to the hull, but in the end it worked out. im not sure why this came up now. I still have a lot of stuff I want to do to it, but it has been a great boat after all the work I put into it. I had a good commercial season and my charters were way up this year(75-100% increase).
In hindsite i kinda wished I had waited because I probably could have bought STRICK's boat, been into it for less and probably had a nicer end product(im not as meticulous as he is), but hindsite is always 20/20.
Once again im not sure why this came up now , but to answer your question...yes I am over it.

I'm glad it all worked out. I'm looking forward to a good commercial bass season this year with some cheap fuel. Somehow I think the market prices are going to be a little less this year . . . especially when I flood the market with fish caught in csicknick's "secret spots". Congrats Nat for making her come together and having a successful year!!

PS - is that OMC a 86 or 87? If so you might want to read this article.

It is a 250 suzuki with a 16x20 suzi stainless prop. I generally cruise at about 4200 rpms and do roughly 28 knots. I dont have a fuel management system at the moment, but I think its around 2.5 mpg at this speed. it tops out at 5900-6000 doing 4142 knts.

It was. I think I am probably more excited about it than either billybob or nat. I just wanted to make sure all the facts were out there and there was no room for misunderstanding.

As I re-read billybob's comments, I think they were tongue-in-cheek. I don't think he meant any malice.

Shrimp - on the OMC225, if you wanted to bore it out to 300 HP, I guess you could, but my understanding is that billybob thought the 23 actually ran pretty nicely. Top end was not great and MPG stunk, but 225 could get up on a plane and scoot around. Have you "modified" the merc on your transom?
