Default My grandfather's sportfisher, Time Out

My grandfather was the former sales manager for Dawson Beer's south shore warehouse in Brockton, MA. When he and his crew heard about a corporate-sponsored contest to increase sales, they went at it full tilt and won first place...and a brand new 32 ft. sportfishing boat built at a boat yard in North Falmouth on the Cape. Dawson Beer's slogan was "Time out for Dawson" and, of course, the boat was called "Time Out" and was berthed in Duxbury, MA. launched 8/15/1950.

Another newspaper article tells how the boat has "the best equipment possible for saltwater fishing, including a ship to shore radio and all aids to navigation."

That is a cool story. What ever happened to the boat?

I have know idea, I was launched 7 years after it was. Maybe somebody from the Duxbury fishing fleet will know. I'd also love to find out the North Falmouth boat yard where the Time Out was built. I've got a lot more pictures and I think, in addition to the Dawson Beer management, a number of the boat yard employees helped with the launch. After all, Dawson provided free beer to all the people who helped at the christening/launch.

If it was North Falmouth, my guess is that those pictures and the launch happened in Megannsett harbor.

Wow! What a beautiful boat! Very nice, you must find it, if it is still alive.
