73 Tsunami scupper question?

What are you guys doing about the old brass scuppers? I think they may be leaking a little. I had some old through hull transducers that i just removed that may have been leaking on me. I have not tried the boat since i have filled the holes so that may have solved the problem. But if i still am getting water in the bilge i am going to the scuppers. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I did mine a few months ago,at the end of my restore of the Tsunami,and I went with new brass tubes.
I had already replaced the blocks,so they were nice and dry.I over drilled them a bit,and applied several coats of thickened Epoxy resin.

After it cured,I redrilled them to the right size and installed new brass tubes.
I bought a long length of brass tube from Hamilton marine,and cut it to length,annealed it with a torch.
I then coated the tubes,and the hole with Sikaflex polyurethane,and installed them with a flaring tool.

They came out great,and I guess time will tell how long they last.
By the way the vortex thingys work great,without them the thru deck scuppers would be a real P.I.A.

i glassed them over went out transom with th flaper scupper works great on water not so in driveway need to park on a pich nice not having hole in bottom

I just replaced my scuppers and it's as easy or complicated as you want to make it.

After much debate I replaced them as they were. On the Seafari they are supported by a block of fir between the hull and the deck. That block is wrapped in glass and putty and then bored to accept the 1" brass tubes.

I knew my starboard side was leaking because when I opened the hatch I could see a stream trickling along the foam and stringer. The water was getting between the glass and wood, and the tube, and had opened cracks in the wood. The putty was cracked and the water was making its way into the bilge. If your boat is from the 70's I can all but guarantee that you have a leak there. I've attached a link to what I documented... except for drilling out the new hole. Good luck!

When I filled the hole with epoxy I did first neat to seep into any cracking and then thickened. The one I thought was ok, kept taking epoxy like a bottomless hole (well not really, but I used more than in the other). I expect someday I'll find a small blob of hardened epoxy down there somewhere.
I got my tubing and Moeller flaring tool online, but I imagine they have them all over the place back east.
