Mine is a 225 Optimax on a 23', not sure if it will help you. It had a 19 pitch Merc. Offshore four blade when I bought it, couldn't get over 5000-5100 rpms. Some on this site suggested a Mirage Plus 17p. I bought one off e-bay and am still not able to get the top end rpm's I would like. I gained one to two hundred rpm on top and this prop dosen't seem to hold as well, in tight turns the back of the boat feels like it's sliding. I didn't buy from a company that offers any exchange if I didn't like the prop, so now I have two expensive props that I'm not completely satisfied with. I talked to one of the guys at Power Tech Props and he suggested an OFS3R16P three blade or an OFS4R15P four blade, if I wanted to go back to a four blade. They have a 30 day exchange policy and I know Prop Gods will let you try before you buy, so will some local dealers.

I use a Power Tech/Honda 4 blade on my 23WA w/225 Honda. I think it is 14 1/4 X 16 4 blade. It performs good for me and I get the recommended WOT RPM, plus excellent fuel economy.
I am on the opposite side of the country from you, if I were closer to you, I have Mercury 4 blade offshore in a 19P you could try.

dave thats what i'm tring to avoid is buying props that don't work. was going try the 19'' sst off of my old 87 225 but it fits a little tight in the lower unit housing. i measured a new viper and it is about 1/16'' smaller. i read in the book where this new e-tec is suppost to turn 5800 at wot so i don't know if a 19'' prop can do that. may have to go with a 17' prop. i can get a new brp prop off of e-bay for $350 but no exchange. hopefully somebody has run this combo and can tell me

eggsuckindog you were right when you said they were stong, got the old prop to fit and spin freely. took the boat out for the first run today. wow every impress with the boat and the new e-tec. was able to get 47.5 mph on gps at 56 to 5700 rpm. the boat handled great almost felt like a bass boat riding on a pad. this was a light load,no tackle,24 gal of gas and me. still it felt a lot lighter than it looks

HP vs RPM plot in 2006 BRP brochure indicates the "225" E-Tec actually demonstrated 240 HP at the prop!

Thats why I say you need HP for these boats to feel light and handle correctly, it makes a difference

IMO the 19 is going to be way too much pitch, I'm running twin 225's with 19p stainless stiletto's it'll get to 6000 rpm's at wot trimmed up 3/4 tank of gas and 4 people. I'd say somewhere in the 15-16 pitch range will get you there.

You might have to change the thrust washer for the 19 prop. I know power tech included their own thrust washer and it was definitely different that the one with the 3 blade prop. The 4 blade really holds the corners on a turn and keeps the boat on plane longer at slower speeds and my Honda 225 is definitely heavier than E-Tech. I looked at them but they were 35% higher in price than the Honda.
