Default Sceptre - Back to Back Seats - WTB

Anybody got the original Back-to-back seats for a 23 Sceptre? Maybe in the back of your garage, etc???

There is a fiberglass base and a double seat (back to back) that folds down into lounge/bed.

I'm specifically looking for the fiberglass base and the aluminum hardware. Cushions, vinyl and wood can be of poor quality. -- I'll redo them. Just looking for structure.

I was not aware that this was an original option on sceptres? I was looking for some good quality back to back seats for our Tsunami but was unable to find any that I felt would hold up to fishing. Was this an 80's option?

I have a '78 Sceptre that came with the back-to-back seats
on the port/passenger side. The base is a rectangular fiberglass box that is good for a fair bit of storage
underneath.

The seat mechanism was a pain and I ended-up tossing the seats, covering the top of the box with Starboard, and mounting two Pompanette captain's chairs on short pedestals.

I don't know where you could find the "box" itself, but I can't imagine it would be too difficult to fabricate one yourself. In any case, I think the original box is too short anyway. If it would help, I can try to get the dimensions of mine for you.

Yep, that is the exact one we had originally. I'm trying to replicate, except for the folding hardware. I'm going to improve the hinge and slide design. Your right it was a pain in the.....

I may make the fiberglass rect. base, but slightly taller as you suggested. I agree it was a tad low. But I can't make it much taller or else your feet will dangle.

What was the Length and width?? 18x40 I would guess. A true measurement would be of great service. Overall original height would help too.

Thanks,

Jim

It was a factory option in 1977.

Jim,

Are you still searching for this seat? If so, I have one that I no longer need. It is the double seat and the fiberglass box. I don't think the seats can be extended to the flat position. I bought the boat with these in it and I am replacing them.
