Wife is PISSED! Need help from CSC community ASAP
So I have a 23 ft project in the yard. Bought it from a guy whose wife made him sell it. I cut the transom, started on decks, then fish showed up.
Yesterday I bolted down to pembroke and bought a 20 potter inboard (no engine)... without really telling her. Also purchased from a guy whose wife made him sell it. So now I have 2 projects in the yard. Here is the part where I need advice from the CSC community... |

Re: Wife is PISSED! Need help from CSC community ASAP
Hi KenB:
I voted to convert to outboard. But I must say that is sounds like you might have stepped into a bucket of S**t with your wife. Neither one of those boats are a sleep aboard so if I were you I would so some serious rebuilt on the relationship first before you look at either one of the boats. I do have a good name for the new boat though and I am sure your wife would agree "The Other Woman" FellowShip …………………………. Just for the Grins Official 23’ SF Antique Classic SeaCraft Owner |

Re: Wife is PISSED! Need help from CSC community ASAP
Hey Ship.
Thanks for the concerns... my post was tongue in cheek. I did think it was funny that I had to save both of these boats from grumpy wives. Me and the new wife are doing well (first time for both of us). She is not happy about new boats nor my "secretive behavior in acquiring most recent boat," but also sees the benefits in holding the whole escapade over my head. Indefinitely. I will point out that the wife does seem to be less gung-ho about boating type excursions, now that we are hitched. Back in the day she was pretty salty, but now I get a lot of "you go fishing I have to go shopping." She is also grumpy about lack of "bathrooms" on said boats. |

Gee, KenB,
There's a Tsunami just up the road from you. I think it had a potti... Seems a grumpy wife involved there, too. Maybe the potti and cuddy will help get your bride back back to the righteous same page...and keep that Nordstrom's credit card in check Good luck with that!

[QUOTE] Wow sounds like you and I are allot alike... my last boat the wife called it 'sneakily' because that's how I got it, then hid it behind the barn for 2 months before I told her. HA!

Re: Wife is PISSED! Need help from CSC community ASAP
Unless you have your significant other trained/conditioned liked NoBones. Think carefully before buying anymore project boats. Divorce will turn a nice $500 seacraft project into $250/hr project with your attorney. You'll wish you had bought a 21 contender or a turn key 23 seacraft (instead of the $500 project). You might want to consider selling it to Nat's Dad for double and buy the wife some flowers to smooth things over.

Re: Wife is PISSED! Need help from CSC community ASAP
I saw that 20 on CL yesterday and had to laugh at the guy's ad. He was essentially begging someone to take it. I'm guessing you got it for less than the $500 asking.
