1973 20 CC Weight limit.
Dose anyone know what more or less a safe weight limit for a 1973 20 CC would be?
I ask because I do a good bit of daytime swording off mine, and was wondering if with two people and the boat full of gear, a 400 or 500 pound sword (provided you could get it in the boat), would be to much weight for the boat. Now obviously I have to get a fish of this size first, but I just want to have some kind of plan in place since fish of that size are not uncommon here in south florida.

Not to be a smart a$$, but the capacity plate on the boat should give you that info. The USCG requires all boats less than 20 feet (SC 20 is actually 19'-8") to have one of these plates or stickers permanently affixed to the hull. Generally found near the helm.

Yes, I know, but I do not have a capacity plate. The boat did not have a plate when we bought it. I have been inspected by USCG plenty of times and they have never raises an issue about it.

My sticker (made by Fr Frank) says "9 persons or 1350 lbs"
