Hello Classic members, I joined this site to gain info and this type of boat. I am Going to go check out a "78" 20ft CC and it will basically be a project. I wasent looking to get a project boat as my first boat but i really want a clean SeaCraft. My question is looking at the pictures provided by the seller and the supposid year is this a potter built boat ???

Re: Possibly New Owner Got A Question
It's in the "hull ID", last two numbers. Should be in the top right corner of the hull. ALL the info you will need is on this site concerning this project boat.

Re: Possibly New Owner Got A Question
1978 is definately one of the Potter built years. Looks like a 20' CC (Master Angler model) an upgrade from the std CC model.

Re: Possibly New Owner Got A Question
Once you get it, if you do, You'll have to read through this at least 3 times and take notes. I don't think I'll get any FLAK if I say this is the single best thread for a 20 foot recon!
http://www.classicseacraft.com/forum...rt=&PHPSESSID= Stick likes to be stroked with a compliment once in a while, so be nice and let him know. There is also 3000 lifetimes of information on this site so, Welcome Aboard and knock yourself out! It is a blast from beginning to-----I don't know when it ends yet but I'll let you know if it ever does and I survive it.

Re: Possibly New Owner Got A Question
Well I'm IN ! I pick up this clean 78 SeaCraft 20SF. The dude with the bare hull never returned my calls so lucky for me he didn't. My new to me 20SF has a 95' 150 Merc EFI XRi VHF and CD player with bimini top. Scored it for 5 and no soft spots on the floor. Have some plans for it but mainly i will just be enjoying it for now.
Some of the only pics I got right now. Will try to snap some more soon. Could use some paint and other minor fixes/upgrades. BTW: the HIN on this boat has SED as the first 3 letter is that a correct potter hull I.D. ? The actual HIN tag seems to have fallen of not really there, is that an issue ?

Re: Possibly New Owner Got A Question
Congrates,
I have been following your thread .I actually took a look at this one it was in WPB. Needs a little cosmetics touches but all in all a SOLID boat. You did good to stay away from the project in Big Pine. The Serial number was gone, the title was for a seacraft but there was no way of conecting the two. No serial # spooked me away. A few weeks ago I purchased an 89 Seacraft ( Tracker) you probally saw it during your quest. Solid, paint good (just needs a buff). I plan on installing a 2-stoke 200 suzuki I had on my old Formula 233 CC. |
