20' Seacraft center console vs 23' center console
Trying to make comparison between the ride and handeling of the 20' against the 23' center console. Why is there a weight difference between Potter. CSY and SEC built boats?
20' Potter 1600 lbs 20' SEC 2100 lbs 23' Potter 2645 lbs 23' CSY 3100 lbs These are dry weights, no motor. |

Re: 20' Seacraft center console vs 23' center console
Not sure were you got your numbers but the abbreviation "SEC" was used during the years when Bill Potter owned the company. "CSY" (Carribbean Sailing Yachts) was during the 80's. I think I may have read that CSY over built their boats. They were around for one year and built only the 23 and 27 models.
As far as the ride comparison goes....there is a very big difference due to the difference in size of the two models. The 23 sf is a very large boat when compared to the 20sf. One thing that I can assure you is that you will like which ever one you get strick

Re: 20' Seacraft center console vs 23' center console
My mistake..I own an SIC built boat. It is a 1985 20' SF that I bought new. I have taken care of it and it still looks new, orignal everything except power. I have not had a chance to ride in a 23', and I'm looking at 1981 23'cc that needs repowering. Thanks for your response.

Re: 20' Seacraft center console vs 23' center console
me and the in-laws (23 and 20SF's):
The 3' difference is HUGE. I have owned both. They are both fun to run and handle great. The 23 is a beast and a bigger boat (storage/fish hold/freeboard).
