Zuke 140 props

Anyone running a Zuke DF140 on their 20SF? If so, what props are you using?

Capt. Lloyd also has a 140 Zuke on a 20 sf, with a bracket on it. Unless your min planing speed is down around 12-13 mph, you might want to consider a 4B prop to get a little more stern lift to offset motor weight. 4B props might lose a couple mph top end, but will typically improve cruise mpg and reduce mid-range throttle sensitivity, especially in following seas. I think that's a good trade. You also need to make sure motor height is correct before you start switching props. Top of the anti-ventilation plate should be above the water when you're up on plane and trimmed out where you normally run.

Im using a Four blade Zuke prop 16x21 but thats for a 175foursrtroke. cheers

No problem. Are you heading out of Edg Harbor in your sig pic? I fish the Derby from shore every year and spend most of my time on Chappy so that view is familiar.

I'm running a 3 blade SS PTR Powertech Prop . It's 13.5X18P. I raised my motor, now I'm turning too many RPM's (6300+). A 19 pitch should be about right.

I have a Df140 on a 20 foot Seacraft. I'm using a Suzuki SS 14 X 20 three blade and it will turn up to 6150 with a good load on it. Comes out of the hole easily and holds plane at 13K (no tabs). You don't need a 4 blade prop to offset this 410 Lb engine unless you're wayyyy back on a bracket. You should be very happy with this choice of prop.

Bushwacker, thanks for that. Yeah, I'm planning on shaking her down with the stock prop, then trying to fine tune. i hope to splash next week, then we can start figuring things out. I just finished installing trim tabs as well, so I have a lot to figure out.

ScottM, yeah, that's E-ville harbor. Did we exchange a few pms a few years ago regarding the Derby? Either way, shoot me one this year, maybe I can get you out on the water. The last day of the derby this year (snotty, windy) in edgartown outer harbor was an absolute albie slaying morning. I was the only boat out there until 10 am or so, and everyone missed it. Best albie day of my life.

HeadHunter, yeah, I have both batteries forward, as well as a new gas tank that has been slid a few inches forward, so I'm not too worried about weight. My old motor was about 380, so I don't think 420 or so will be that bad.
