Question - Stieger Craft/ SeaCraft
Love the Seacraft boats. Big fan. Saw a Stieger Craft on a boatlift on the Homasassa, the center section of the hull looks awful familiar. Anybody know the back story? OR -Just another company copying what works?

Steiger boats are an old company based in NY. It's an original design. Not a SeaCraft copy.

The hull is remarkably similar but only on their deep-V model. I think their big 26' has the variable deadrise hull design (after doing a little research) All others appear to have chines/lifting strakes.
I didn't know if there may have been a partnership or something back in 1972. Interesting, thanks for the info. They look very nice. Splash/Copy is such a harsh word, I could see the designer could have been looking at other hulls which he chose to borrow/incorporate a few ideas from. No agenda, just honest curiosity. |

I'm familiar and I still don't see it. Look at an SC front, back or from an angle.

OK, well I see it but not in the j-peg I tried to attach. I am only speaking about the keel out to the first vertical step not the entire boat. Last edited by RidgeRunner; 08-15-2012 at 04:08 PM. Reason: j-peg didn't work.. |

Just a question mind you, but I can assure you it is similar. Pics over the weekend, weather permitting. Might even take a straight edge to see if it is a variable deadrise. |

Lol true, I meant SeaCraft. Oh yeah I see what your saying on the bottom one. While your under there see if it stays straight and for how far from the transom.

They are nice looking boats. I can see why they have a following. They are popular here on the west coast. A guy I know down the road has one but he comes over here to admire my seacrafts
