Florida Guys- what fish are these?
Just returned from FLA and did some night fishing off my dock- I caught many really nice Sea Trout, and Ladyfish but also caught these two small fish which I don't know- I'm sure they are very common and easily identified by FLA residents but for part-timers like me.......... Thanks!

pinfish. cut them up and use them to catch snapper. use them live to catch almost anything. Great bait to drop on an offshore reef.

those are pinfish. use them to catch big grouper. they are a very hearty bait and dont die easily.

Pinfish are great.
Far from being "junk" they are plentiful and tough little baits. I have caught many sailfish on these....it helps to snip off their dorsal fins. Why insult fish born to be what they are.....they can't all be marlin!

Pinfish (aka Sailor's Choice).
I used some about 2-3" long while fishing for Speckled Trout in May. The trout would chasing them up and out of the water and then hit them on the way back down. Several times I counted to 10 and still missed hooking up. I was later told that cutting their dorsal fins made it easier for the gamefish to take the bait. I would have had a fantastic day with the trout if the stingray and I hadn't crossed paths.
