Default fuel tank fill question

I was thinking of using stainless pipe for the filler run to the tank. I would use about 6 inches of hose at the fill port to pipe and again at the pipe to tank inlet. I feel this would be a permanent under deck solution that in 10 years time if the hose went bad I would only have two small sections to replace. What say yall?

With that much iron-based metal in a fuel system, i would have safety concerns. Besides, wouldn't using USGC approved filler hose be more economical, even if you have to replace the entire run after 10 years?
