Default Strong Kool-Aide

I just thought our Kool-Aid was strong but these boys got stuff that makes Don's hooch taste like water.

Start on my first post on page 7

Haha. I saw that post, thought it was funny. I passed on a Tsunami project after discovering it was built like a boston whaler - no internal grid, just foam.

Sure the foam makes is feel more solid, but I would rather have a boat that does not rely on flotation foam for its rigidity. Eventually the foam looses its bond to the hull and the hull flexes, then it fails. I have a buddy who experienced this failure on his tsunami

Potter tried a version of foam for stiffness in some of the 25 Seafari's (mine). When I got it the foam had delaminated from the hull and broke in a lot of pieces. Contributing factor to some really nasty and dangerous structural damage.

There ain't no foam in my boat now and never will be again.

Hey Connor,

Lots of foam in our 25 as well. I remember Gramps telling me that, in the 80s, the marina had the boat in the water for a few days without the bilge plug in. Gramps got up there on Friday, jumped in, fired her up, and when he started giving her gas in the channel, he felt she was heavy. He pulled the engine cover and the water was up to the bottom of motor. I never asked him if the cockpit plugs were in but I assume they were. The foam probably helped there.

The foam I can see is still dry. Squirrels are probably nesting in it right now.

Kenny, I can't believe you lit that fuse over there. That's terrible.
