Default 1971 Seacraft 20' Question

What's a fair price to pay for a 1971 Seacraft 20 in fair condition with an older 90hp tohatsu on a trailer? Seller is unsure of engine year and based on research the engine is between 92-96. He is selling on behalf of a relative.

Hull is in original condition. Transom and deck appear to be solid. Wiring needs to be completely re-done. There are no working gauges (rpm or speedo). Hull is bottom painted. Not sure if tank was replaced. Console has a few coin sized holes in it from previous mountings etc. Basically boat appears to look its age.

Seller is asking $9k. From a pricing perspective, seeing that at a minimum it needs to be re-wired and will need to be repowered in the near future what would be a fair price for this boat?

Was not sure if I should have posted this in general or for sale.

IMHO - I’d say $3000 or so
Motor is 25 years old
Boat is 50
What seems good is probably not
I think 9k is out of line
Run it till it quits
Then the fun begins!

I paid 2k clams for a 73 all original except for the 83 model Johnson 150, running good, sole was shot.

Uncle boo, how long ago did you buy yours? I was originally thinking of a 5k offer but based on 3k and 2k suggestions I was close but still too high.

Default 71 seacraft

Check around to see if anyone will service that Tohatsu
They were strong lightweight motors back then
But I would think almost a “throwaway” by now
Unlike an Evinrude or Merc where old parts are readily available
