Abe's Rocket
The Coast Guard says: Length X Beam ------------- = # of Passengers 15 Don't believe it if all the passengers have a fat ass like me

When I run that equation with my boat's dimensions (18'x7.5') I get a result (9) that is 50% higher than what my CG plaque says (6).

The true equation is:
Length x Beam divided by 15 = # of six packs required to rebuild your transom.

Abe wanted "legally Cramed" not "safely Cramed"
I don't believe the formula either Neither does the Haitain Government

According to the boaters I see in Miami all the time, a 20 should easily hold as least 20 people, one for each foot of length and still have PLENTY of room for more!!! If you think I don't see this stuff all the time, come on down here and see for yourself. The sad part of it all is when you see them cruise right by the marine patrol, kids dangling their feet over the bow. Sick, sick, sick!

JohnS, I hear yuh. During the summer I see it every weekend.
When I have more time I'll have to tell you guys about a friend of mine (seasoned local bass fishermen) who was anchored in the rips at 4 a.m. in 50 degree water, chumming bunker (alone) and got knocked out of his boat (with a fish on)......he lived. Luckly for him he washed up on the tail end of a bar about 30 yard from his boat (87 SC Walkaround) and managed to snag the anchore line after 5 tries. Ok, thats the story. P.S. He got the fish. Cheers.
