Default Seacraft hull ID number question

I have heard of CSY and SIC at the begining of a hull ID number, can anyone identify what TXY is. Those are the letters at the begining of my hull ID. The last two digits are 81, but my title say 1980. Can anyone make any sence of this?

Wow, Thanks for the info!!!
With all that being said, is there a preferred model (Concerning hull ID numbers)? Any construction concerns?

The overwhelming majority of SC owners will say the Potter years (1969-1980) are the best. However, the early 80's hulls were still built very well under CSY and SeaCraft Industries (1980-1986). Most people tend to shy away from the Tracker years (1987 to present) due to some quality issues with components and hardware. However, it appears that the hulls were still built in a quality manner up until recently. Only until the late 90's models came out have we heard of hull structural problems (see Captn C's post about his 25 CC).

Capt. Brad

I tried to send a "private" reply and I'm not too sure I did it correctly....so I'll try again.

I have a 1978 23 CC SeaCraft with a hull ID of SECF30070778. I assume from your email that it was manufactured in Princeton, FL in '78 because of the SEC prefix, however it's titled as a 1979. Any interesting info this S/N provides??

Thanks
DonV

Don

Your Hull ID: SECF30070778

SEC = SeaCraft
F3 = Superfish 23'
007 = Hull number
07 = July
78 = 1978

Real close to mine = SECF30491278; hull # 49 Dec 1978

Any hull manufactured July or after is titled the following year
