B256 or B260
I am looking to upgrade my transducer this season and am considering a B256 and /or b260. Is the 260 mounted inside the hull worth the extra cash? I will mostly be bottom fishing in 90 ft. or less of water. Dink

Re: B256 or B260
I had the B256 mounted on the whaler and it was a fantastic transducer. The home made fairing block the previous owner fabricated was a different story....I removed the B256 to replace the fairing block and decided to go with the tilted element B60-20.
just throwing that into the mix for you, it is not as good a trasducer, spec wise, than the B256 but I think it will do just fine for our waters. If you were fishing off the edgin in 1000's of feet of water I would stick with the B256. The b260 is one HUGE unit if I am not mistaken? nice piece of machinery but is is giagantic. |

Jason
Since I will be trailering, is there a good (safe ) location where the 256 can be mounted using the good fairing block, and not interfere with the launching? I have a roller trailer. |

Re: B256 or B260
Hey Dink,
I think the price of M260 will be overkill in 90ft of water, but i have used mine in the shallows and it works great. Below is an old post on my setup; Quote:
