That particular event may be a three day occurrence but inshore commercial netting in NC is far from being limited to three days.

Finnie, Jason and members, apologies for censorhip. Lost my temper. Hours, miles and cash chasing that fish only to watch that was more disturbing than the adult beverages prior to witnessing. My bad. Please excuse me. I've released many more Stripers than I've kept, and that just really caught me offguard. Part II.

Not pretty......Peter Mathiessen wrote a book some 20 yrs back called "Mens Lives" - the whole book is about several generations of fishermen netting bass like this on Long Island beaches from the 1930's on till it was banned in the 70's...launching dories into the surf and hauling net in w/trucks....a pretty good read as I recall.

another book to see where poor management leads is called "Cod", and based on the Newfoundland cod fishery in days gone by. A small book but a rather sobering read.

Yep - and and as much as the three day schoolie slaughter bugs me the netters setting up in the dumping waters of these inlets is worse.
