top cap recore
im about to begin removing the old coring from my top cap once i recieve my supplies. my question is how i should go about recoring. its laying on an unlevel surface rite now but i will be proping it up on some bricks and leveling it all out. as long as the cap is level all around i may recore correct? just trying to prevent any headaches in the future. i couldnt imagine doing all this work and the cap not fitting back on.

Re: top cap recore
I was careful to put the cap on about six sawhorses and used a six ft level to keep it square. I recored it and covered the core (3/8 marine plywood) with 1708 cloth and epoxy. The cap was still flexible and fit fine. Measure the camber while still on the boat and sestup your sawhorses to match.
