Rod Holder Angle
I want to order some additional rod holders to install in the gunwales of my 1998 23' seacraft cc. Does anyone know the angle of the stock rodholders? Are they 15 degree? I am not near the boat (and won't be in the immediate future) or I would go out with my protractor and measure them.
Thanks, Jeremy

Re: Rod Holder Angle
I am pretty sure my 2003 21' SC's Rodholders are 30 degrees but I won't be near the boat for a while to check. I know this doesn't help much but I'm just not 100% sure.

Re: Rod Holder Angle
Thanks. Its kind of a dumb question, but I never worried about what angle the rod holders were. I just put the rods in and fish.

Re: Rod Holder Angle
On my Potter hull it had 4 - 30 degree in the stern. I now have 13, in the stern I have 6-30 degree facing back and in the bow and mid ship I have
7 - 15 degree facing outboard. Plus 8 0 degree on the CC and 4 more on the T-Top. If I put rods in all of them I would look like a porcupine in the water. I also have 6 rod holders under the stern gunnel and 4 under the bow gunnel. In the Coast Guard our motto was Semper Paratus Always Ready. FellowShip . Re: Rod Holder Angle
I would, but the additional rod holders will be pretty close to the existing rod holders. If the angle isn't the same I am afraid the rod tips may touch.

Re: Rod Holder Angle
Take a sliding bevel and align it under the gunnel to your current rod holders. Lock it in position and then match it up to a protractor (your grammar school aged child probably has one in his/her pencil box kit). Even if it is close you will be able to tell if they are 15's or 30's, as these are by far the most popular rod holders.
See the attached link for a sliding bevel or borrow one from a friend in the trades: http://www.grizzlytools.com/outlet/S...l-7-1-2-/H5888

Re: Rod Holder Angle
Many thanks for all the help. The factory rod holders were 30 degrees. I installed two additional 30 degree holders on each side. Nice! It was so easy that I am thinking about installing two 45 degree or 60 degree rodholders next to the transon live well for downplaner rods. Thanks CSC!!
