Default Fast trac tnt q`s again.....

Hi all.

Ok, so when we last left our heros, I had found and installed a fresh water unit.

It was a cheap mop and glow re do. Chinese motah and no seal kit. Rustoleum job.

So I wanted to do it properly and got an Arco motah and seal kit for the original. Rebuilt in the living room on a clean piece of marble. Rams were perfect and due care exercised. Zinc chromate 3 coats. Bedliner 2 coats. Factory spray bomb 3 coats.

Manifold re-mounted and rams extended empty. Yeah I know. On advice from Arco, I am touching the switch for a sec up and down. Re Pete. Re Pete. She is taking factory fluid so the pump must be working. Still no movement. Cap off and not dumping out of the fill.

Confused as always,
GFS
Thanks gang!

Sandy,

Why extend the rams with system empty? Don't have my manual handy, but it seems like that would just put more air into system that the pump will have to get rid of running in retract mode. Pump isn't really designed to pump air, so probably not good to run it dry for very long. Why not collapse the rams and then run the motor in the up position till the rams start moving. I'm not sure the reservoir is that big, so you may have to keep adding fluid till all the plumbing lines are full and the rams start moving. Denny

My poor thinking was to mount the unit first which requires extending the tilt ram almost all the way.

My floor jack wants to roll given that much difference in height. Not in a good spot to try to strap it and I`m afraid the lower will fall off the jack and crack.

It is on a block now while my brain flutters.

Thx,
