Catman,

Congratulations on your new twins. 2 stoked or 4 stoked? You're right, life is grand. Boat or no boat. A friend of mine once said: "you gotta leave stuff to do for when you're older".

Be a great dad...

Regards,

Hey Catman, congrats on the twins.I'll probably catch hell here, but there are a lot more important things than boats - and you got a couple in your hands now.
Of course if you happen to have a slip you can't use, there could be a mess of pampers in it for ya
Pipedream, it's all a matter of catching the "window" - that's that small period where the kids are actually willing to help you, and they are actually a help.
But it's all fun!

Congrads Cat!!

Don't worry about that boat not hitting the water for a while. Look at it this way, you are just prolonging the life the the engines!!!!!!

Pipe,
My two boys are 14 and 10. The time that they actually were helpful was between 7 and 8. A short span in their lives but I look forward to the day my 14 year old wants help fixing his car. Ya, right..........And you want me to do it when???? Ok, no problem, ya see that boat over there, it needs to be shining!!!!!!

Oh, I can not wait for that day to come and it looks like it will be coming soon!!!!

John

John, I'm not sure how this link will work but somehow what you said doesn't always work that smoothly.
When my oldest turned 16, we got this 90 Jetta.Color maroon, dented up - well now it's a Viper yellow machine - the envy of the neighborhood.Let's see, his first attempt at just turning the compressor on to blow it off resulted in a broken reg knob.So no need to ask who ended up doing most of this. Not to mention struts, exhaust, cv joints, etc.
But hey, you can't complain. He gets honors, plays on the football and baseball teams, has a job, and of course a girlfriend. So don't get your hopes up man, your kids are always your kids and sacrifice is part of the game.I wonder if they'll take me fishing when I'm a soft old geezer?
Bill

Cat Congrats!! Boys are fun. I have Irish twins and it's a blast watching them play.

Make sure you gett'em in the boat early, never too young. My three and four year olds have better sealegs than most. Now with a girl due next month I suppose a boat with a head is in the cards. (have to plan ahead)
