Ha Tex
First attach the two ends with a few screws on both port and starboard side at the stern rapping the remainder of the rub rail Under the bow of your boat then you can lift up the rub rail and stretch it into place. You might need a crow bar in a few arrears to lift up and stretch at the same time. You can use a rag or a piece of wood to prevent damage to your hull while you are re setting the rub rail. I wish I knew this trick before I did mine.

Also since it's hot in TX like here in FL you can lay it out on the pavement for a few hours during the midday sun and it will heat up and be a little more relaxed. An extra pair of hands to pull and alighn the holes as the other set inserts the screws. If you are using the old Seacraft type rubrail may I suggest you use a s/s washer on each screw to avoid screw head pull outs of the old holes!
Good Luck and don't forget the brews

I've done it 3-4 times,I've stared at both ends & even in the bow as it was just me.It seemed easier to pull(one side at a time. The one thing bout living in south fl. is the good ole HOT Sun ! Lay it out & let it heat up.It was on the verge of melting so it stretches.Just make sure its up against the top deck.
