Default Water in fuel talk hold- what should I do?

I have a 1973 20' CC. I pulled the fuel tank and there was nasty water under the tank. What should I do to prevent water from building up under the tank when I install a new tank. The tank fits snuggly.

Gordy,
Welcome to the site. David Pascoe has a really good way of mounting a tank to prevent water buildup and corrosion. Go to his site at www.yachtsurvey.com and take a look. Or you can search the archives on this site and see what some of the members have done with their SCs.
