Re: Seacraft hull ID number question
It looks to me like its hulls per year but it can't be a calander year, I don't think. If hull 14 was made in September that would be a pretty slow year. Mine is 123 made in June so the year must start in July or August like cars for the new model year. What I mean is hull 014 from 76 may have actually been manufactured in Septeber of 75.

Re: Seacraft hull ID number question
What year did hulls first come with hull identification numbers? I heard 72/73. What are the implications of a seller not having a title? I bought a 73' SeaCraft a few years ago that did not have a title, but the valid registration worked. I'm considering a 1987 23' whose owner does not have the title and hasn't been registered since sinking 3 years ago. Any thoughts?

Re: Seacraft hull ID number question
'72. Anything made after 9/71 had a hull ID. My '72 must have been made before 9/71 cause there ain't one.
As for the title you'll have to either get a salvage title or take the hin# to DMV or police and hope they give you the name of the person that registered it last and hope that person signs it over. Or you can grind it off and tell DMV it was a home built.... I think I'd go to the coppers first just to make sure your not buying a hot boat.
