21' 1962 restoration
This is the boat that i got from botapeje (nestor) that he got from cliff. yesterday and today i started ripping it apart and now i have about an acres worth of mulch if anyone is interested. but seriously, the stuff that was built right was a bitch to get out, but the rest just fell out. the center stringer seems fine since it was done right, but the other 4 need rehab.
Mark - id like to talk to you about how widened the gunnels on your boat. im going to do the same and have some ideas but just wanna get other opinions trayder - im sure this project will generate allot of interest, maybe you want to make it sticky and ill update it once a week?

Re: 21' 1962 restoration
As a racer in the photos it has a center console, so it shouldn't that bad. But don't forget the racing graphics!

Re: 21' 1962 restoration
It makes no differance what I or anyone else thinks about the changes you do to that boat, it's your boat. I can tell however, that modifying a one of a kind boat like that one just devalued it out of the realm of classic or antique. And is there for just another boat.

Re: 21' 1962 restoration
allright, so shes pretty much gutted! now for the questions
1. since i need to replace all the stringers, should i do them one at a time (take one out and replace it) or rip em all out and do em all. trayder id like you to respond to this one cause i believe you took yours out completly. 2. i plan on raising the deck 2-3 inches, thus making the stringers 2-3 inches taller, the outer most ones will not be a problem because the glass is still intact so i can copy the shape and add the inces to the top. however, the inner ones are way to far gone and they will have to be made from scracth, so what is the trick to insuring they will sit properly and the deck will be level. 3. can you guys measure your consoles for me, LxWxH, and lemme know what looks good, and yes i am a fan of bigger consoles 4. fuel tanks - i looked at some today at a savalge place and can get them for 3 dollars a gallon, they had an 80, 100, and 134 gallon, the 100 and 134 would be really tricky to fit in, so will 80 gallons be enough? (i would love to get away with only $240 on a fuel tank Thats all for now! Ben
