Re: twin 225's on a 23 scepter
Weight is not an issue with the Mercs. My '74 23' Tsunami, for some insane reason, is actually rated for 500 hp, although I have a single 1988 225 Johnson. In 1984, I worked for Rybovich Marina (later Spencer) in WPB, when we set up the Palm Beach Police's 1977 23' SF with new twin Mercury 225's, which were donated by Mercury. Top speed was low to mid 60's. We did raise the transom 5" to accomodate twin 25" shafts.
Don't fear the weight, fear the fuel costs instead.
