![]() I have Petit Trinidad "SR" Ablative paint on my hull. Is it adequate to rough up entire hull w/ a 3M abrasive pad and just paint bare spots with new paint, as opposed to painting the entire hull ? THX |

Be careful when sanding, use good repritory protection I have to drink Benadril after I work with bottom paint it realy breaks me out. Jose

Just a suggestion.
Put an entire coat of paint on that is a different color. When it wears thru the undercoat will be evident and where the wear spots are will be obvious. Just a suggestion. Good luck and cover up and wear a good mask; A-F paint is nasty stuff in your air passages. Loaded with Cuporous Oxide- read that POISON!!!!!

I have Micron Extra on my boat and I found if I wetsand with 3M paper and a garden hose it keeps the dust way down, almost non existant. If you don't mind getting wet and doing it on a warm day it works well for spot applications which is where I am at now with the Whitewater. Down side is you do it by hand if you don't have a fancy air powered wet sander which I don't. I usually buy a quart a year and touch up spots. I put one coat of blue and two of Shark white the first time around. Try it out.
