1992 Cadillac Brougham - 7000lb Tow Rating!!
ok . . . I'm narrowing down my search for a new Tow Vehicle to replace my little truck. So far I like the Buick Roadmaster/Caprice Wagon and the Cadillac Fleetwood. So far my criteria is that gotta cost less than $3000, get at least 20mpg, and . . . it'd be nice if it had a Posi Rear end and I could rollout a sleeping bag in the back Anyone know of other tow vehicles out there?
Anyone ever tow with one of these babies? 7000lb tow rating!! 23mpg hwy. http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...brougham-6.htm http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm |

Or how about you just get in the left lane, go 10 mph under the speed limit, and leave your blinker on.
Merry Christmas Everyone!! Lloyd

My dad used to pull a 23 Penn Yan Flybridge with a 1976? Oldsmobile Delta 88 with air shocks added to support the weight. He would pull it to the beach (100 miles one way) almost every weekend with this car. Not very fast but a good ride. No kidding.

Hmmm . . . this is interesting.
http://www.carsurvey.org/viewcomments_review_65697.html "16th Oct 2005, 07:09 I tow a 251 Checkmate convincor with mine. I added air lift bags to the springs and what you get is a tow vehicle that eats up half ton trucks!I'm serious, I have towed my 5000 pound rig with a 1999 Z71 Chevy and this Fleetwood puts it to shame, it's a torquey ole girl. With 150000 on the clock it runs and performs flawlessly. Normal parts, egr, ball joints and such, no biggie. Very dependable, will buy another!" |

1993/4/5 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.0L I6, w/ the factory (not dealer) tow package - 10,000 lb tow rating... with a 6 cylinder!!
I used to tow my 23' Tsunami with my '95 G Cherokee, and my 27' travel trailer as well (not at the same time) mileage was between 9-11 mpg. I towed a friends' 26' Century WA home to FL from just outside of Nashville with my Jeep after he blew the tranny on his '03 Chevy 2500 Suburban. Including through the mountains. My Jeep had turned 250,000 miles on the way to FL. That Jeep was bullet-proof. I finally traded mine in on an '02 F250 Diesel Crew cab when my Jeep passed 275,000 miles. In '96 the tow rating was dropped to 7,500 with the all the Grand Cherokees because of transmission changes, and in '99 the 6 cyl. model was dropped to 5,000 lbs.
