Well I have been lurking and learning here for 6 months. All the time looking for that deal of a lifetime. Well I finally found it. It wasnt the deal of a lifetime but it was almost exactly what i wanted. The problem has been that what I wanted seems to be rather rare in the seacraft world. Anyways after 6 months of driving around marina's and looking in backyards I found it. It was sitting in a smaller marina in westerly RI. It was up on blocks for the winter and had 1 small forsale sign in the window. So I called it 10 times before the guy returned it. Turns out he is an older guy that has owned it most of its life. Not much use and 98% original. Well i saw the diamond in the ruff and bought it that day. So here it is.
1978 23' Seacraft Sceptre (Hull# 5 May 1978) 1978 305cu 228hp mercrusier 228 borg warner 71c v-drive very solid - no soft spots - never been molested or repaired. I am hoping to get thru the year with current power plant. Have added electronics and a radar arch. totaly went thru the motor an did upgarades and maintanace. Will do a lot of work this winter to bring it back to life. Thanks again for all the info that helped me make this purchase. I love the boat and love it more every time i take it out. bought may 25 1 month later I have put 49 hours so far on it and it has boated some decent fish. Soon as the life raft gets here It will be bound for the canyons south of block. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
