Default New2Me 197_ SC20SF

Need help identifying model year. Documentation says seacraft 1979, but hull id was missing so Alabama Marine Police assigned it a #. From seeing other 20's in the gallery i assume its ranging from 1969-1970. Thanks in advance........great site by the way!! Just purchased the boat yesterday and have been up all night just browsing through the forum section!!

197_SC20SF,

HI...Looks like a 69-70 with those rod lockers being set back. Mine also has the same SeaCraft plate @ the bow. The only difference I was able to note between the 1969 and the 1970 was teak hatches vs fiberglass hatches. On my 1970 the hatch covers were all fiberglass and had the factory non skid pattern. On the '69 I beleive they were teak. You have a Moesly/Potter built is its a 1970.

does it have a fuel tank below the deck? If it does that would rule out 1969, not sure what year they were put below deck but my 69 was above.

Thanks guys for your replies....the boat came with no hatch covers...the deck does have a factory "patterned" non skid; don't know if this would determine 69 vs. 70. As for the fuel tank....the boat also came without a fuel tank. Basically i bought it from a guy who was going to restore it, and he bought it from a guy who was going to restore it....so it's missing some items that might have been removed in the past. Once again thanks for the replies...at least i now know that its definitely not a 1979 model as the new paperwork states.

Welcome to CSC and good luck with your restore.

I have seen too many changes. Can't remember the years they changed or carried over

For sure it's a SeaCraft !!

Thanks Capt. Chuck.........i am now a bit more confused as to what exact model year it is, but as you say i know for sure it's a SeaCraft.

If it helps any the cutout on the stern deck seems to be right on an area that was not on the non-skid......baitwell perhaps??

I've added a photo of this....once again thanks for the help!

I did think of that possibility, but looking at the layouts on the literature section, scratched that out due to the cutout not being to intrusive into the helm area.

My 1970 has no vents, 2 hatches forward and the scuppers drain down and then out the Transom. The 71 and on scuppers drain thru the floor. The 1969 scuppers drained thru the transom but slightly different than the 1970 setup (see stricks boat...his is a good example of the 1969). Stringers also changed from 4 to 2 in 74(ish). Also in 74 an in floor livewell and underdeck tank were standard(?). Non skid pattern changed in 74 ish too. Your non skid pattern is the same as mine. Confused Yet?
