Default Maybe you can help me....

I have a lowrance 111XC that I have hooked up to my etec outboard via the Lowrance-net NMEA2000 interface. It is connected on one of 3 Ts I have in my system. One goes to the head unit, 1 to my GPS, and the third to the Etec. I have 120ohm terminations on each side. The GPS is working fine. I have updated the software in the head unit, and also the etec. I am not running i-command gauges (just a standard tach).

With all that said, I still can not see the motor on the bus set up screen.

Is there something I am missing here?

I assume the buss is correct since the GPS works. I would think that it would see the motor and add it to the list, but I have to be doing something wrong.

Not sure I will be able to answer this question. What year and model is your Etec?

Maybe check the output of the GPS? I know Garmin defaults to a special Garmin language, you have to tell it to output NEMA0183, which I thought was ind standard, I haven't heard of NEMA 2000, but I am by no means an electronics expert, perhaps Rich can enlighten us?

What model are you using as a head unit? LCX-111C?

Which model of the LowranceNet do you have? 1st generation has Blue connectors, 2nd generation has red connectors..

Also Do you have the correct Evinrude cable?

From Lowrance's website..

Evinrude E-TEC Engines are configured by connecting a computer to the engine through a serial port and running a configuration program on the computer that sets up the engine. They cannot be configured by Lowrance gauges or head units.

The head unit is LCX111C HD

I believe I have the proper cable from the motor to the lowrance-net. The system is the old blue connectors.

I am not looking to configure the etec, just grab the data from it.

It sounds like you are looking the same places I have. I can give lowrance a call on Monday if I need to. I was hoping you could tell me where I went wrong... I keep looking for the button I need to press to tell the head unit the motor is connected but I do not think there is one.

Thanks for trying, let me know if you think of anything.

Called Lowrance this morning. I explained your issue to the Tech. He suggested swapping the T's for the GPS and the Etec. After doing so, see if the Etec comes up on the bus. If it does the T connector probably needs to be replaced.

If you still have the problem, your best bet is to call Lowrance tech support directly. They said they can walk you thru some more tests. Better Plan on calling first thing in the morning as wait time is looong.. 800-324-1356

I was reading on another Forum that a guy had a similar issue, he could not see the Etec with the key in the on position. He replaced the cable thinking it was bad, and same problem. He dropped it in and while it was running it finally came up. Have you tested it while the engine was running?

I have tested it while it was running, but not since the updates. I'll give that a try and then reach out to tech support. Thanks for your efforts.
