One of my 23's has them made out of teak. About 1.5" strips with rope passing through them seperated with the use of knots. There are hooks under the cap to hold them up. I didn"t look to see how they were attached to the inner liner. They don"t look too bad.

It sounds interesting. I'm always looking to add teak to the boat.
