Default deck replacement cost

Hey guys, i recently just bought a 73' CC and theres a couple small soft spots in the deck. From your experiences whats it going to run me to have a new deck put in by a professional?

I got a quote of $10k for an 18ft '85. It really depends on how much work you want done and how you want finished product to look.

You probably have a wet transom too which should at least be checked with deck out.

the transom has been redone and rainsed 5". Sold as a rock. Deck had been done about 8 yrs prior. Get the impression it was done that well.

If you have a few small soft spots . . . why would you rip out the entire deck? unless you are planning on raising the floor 3" . . . just fix the soft spots. Way less work and way less material . . . the repair will be just as strong.

jaybap,

I met the people from Metan Marine last year at the Newport Boat show. They have repaired many Seacrafts and the work is excellent. Maybe they can take a ride over to inspect boat. At the very least bring some pictures to the show.

test the whole deck, only repair the bad sections, i have done two 23's , the first i skinned out a lot of good balsa, the second i had learned from the first and only repaired what needed it. I did the skin the top layer off method, and recore and replace skin. While your at it i would check the cap for core issues and do them as well.
