I'm looking at this boat tomorrow and would appreciate any thoughts from those who know more than me about Sea Crafts.
It's obviously due for a repower and could use a galvanized trailer but if the price is right I might be able to take care of those issues fairly quickly. I'm wondering if the short OB bracket is a plus or a minus? TIA! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

looks like they used the bracket to put a 25" motor on a 20" transom. I custom made one for my 78 conentental for the same reason.

That trailer has to go... only mine is worse. I run mine with out the bracket and I like the way it runs. And it does look like a 25" engine on a 20" transom
MIne is not new power but with the difference I can fill up the tank plenty of times. Looks like you don't need much to get her in shape Congrats on a nice ride |

Jon,
I believe his one is in my vicinity. Check your private mail. Trailer looks better than the one I recently had dragged from Michigan with twice the weight.

Jon, how much is the price that's right?? That's the big question!! The t-top looks really nice as well as the hull. Not sure what scrap metal prices are, but that's about what the trailer is worth....especially after you dunk it in saltwater. Great looking project boat, good luck.

The seller is asking about $7500 but my target price is closer to $5000 if the boat is structurally good. Reasonable?
Thanks for all the feedback! I'm looking forward to becoming a member of the tribe if it works out. |

QUOTE] In his dreams $7500... ![]() It has cable steering that is stretched out to the max.. The forward hatch looks like starboard.. The trailer speaks for itself... The bracket looks like a jail house urinal.. The white lower Merc was off a SeaRay.. No telling on the upper? If the transom and deck are good maybe $2500 .. TOPS If they are not you are in for a major overhaul!! Just my 2¢ worth Hope it works out and keep us posted!

Dido on what nobones said above. It's got a 20" transom . . . probably original and will most likely need to be done. Plan on spending some money if you buy that boat (transom + fuel tank + hoses + steering + batteries + all wiring). Check for other soft spots in deck, hatches, and gunnel cap. Replace the brass tubes (scuppers) and the deck drain in forward fish box . . . those tend to leak if they have not been redone. That merc can be a good motor . . . but that one does look particularly well cared for.

some people beleive their stuff is gold!. i would say that boat down here in south florida would be asking about 4000 to 5500. that what i usually see on creigs list and the sort down here. And beleive these guys about it might need work... when i bought mine i paid 5800. and after 4 trips or so i had to park it and rebuild the transom so i made some upgrades and i had to buy a trailer as well that was another 2500 new. Whatever you think your budget is, Double it!!!!!. good luck. take your time and inspect everything!!!
