The side mount binnacle has a kill switch that falls off and will not stay on and I want to disconnect it
How do I go about this? Is it on the motor side or in the binnacle? |

you can close the circut by connecting the wires. I think its black w yellow tracer. N safety wire is yellow w red tracer (I think). Just check your manual. Its done right behind the controls.

you have to open up the side mount binnacle to disconnect the kill switch. it would be a good time to put a new kill switch in for your son

Not only should you NOT disconnect it, you should wear it. Fortunately, my brother-in-law is here to continue to preach this.

Better yet, get an autotether. I boat by myself half the time and knowing the motor will shut down if I fall off is a plus. A regular kill switch lanyard works also but you have to stay hooked up.

That autotether looks nice, was wondering if anyone made one. I boat a lot by myself as well and figure if I fall off it will be when I'm going fairly slowly doing general stuff around the boat. When I'm going fast and hooked up, I'm holding on pretty tight. My nofeedback steering would keep the boat going straight away and that would not be a good thing in that scenario. Thanks for the link!
