Default New here, just bought an '81 23

Hi guys,

I just bought a 1981 23. I will replacing the transom over the winter time but it will work fine in its current condition until then. My immediate need is to find the recessed bow grab rail. When a previous owner rebuilt the cap they never put it back on. anyone have any idea where I can find one? Condition is not that important as I can blast it and powder coat it if neccessary.

Thanks! - SB

you could get some lengths of stainless tubing from a local canvas shop they could curve it if nessasary and install it with some standoffs and ends caps like some of these

Thats a great idea. I thought I saw a build on this site not that long ago where someone did exactly that and bent the tubing using wood templates he traced right from the cap. it would be nice not have to re-create the railimg from scratch but that may be my only option if I cant locate one.

You can have the one off of my 23' I hate those set screw fittings. I am going to do a new stainless one with polished out welds for that one piece look. One spot is bent but hey its free!
