Obviously some toolbox who really knows zilch about these boats. My father's former '82 23 Sceptre was built like a brick sh!t house and looked pretty damn good for its age up until he sold it in 2011 with no major work ever done in its entire life (he was the 2nd owner). Rumor has it CSY had to stop building them because they lost money on every one, hence their short run.

Whether it's a '69, '89 or '99, they've all got the VDH and that's what really counts after all, right?

Heard the same thing about CSY. Some early Moesly 21 race hulls are thin in places where his mind shines and they have only lasted 50 years so far...

Some people act like Potter him self built them. You never know who was on the line that day, who sucked at their job, who got pissed that day and said f- it while they were building each boat. One day a true crafts man next day a guy who lied on his application who only made it one week at the shop. Many good boats threw out the years and some less than great too. I rater have a shitty made seacraft that was built by a dumb @ss on a Friday afternoon than a bay liner that was built by the company's best employee any day! I think the seacrafts that came out not as good as other were better than most other boats being built in the Potter era and thats why they are so good. High quality control during that time lead to better boats, thicker glass builds and overall the great design.
