Default If this hull

Guys and gals what is this seacraft? It doesn't appear to have the stepped seacraft hull.

Funny I saw that one on Craigslist and figured it was either a random year or not legit as I agree the hull doesn't seem SeaCraft. I believe I checked in on this one as I am looking for a classic CC. If memory serves, the price was low or free or something. Just didn't smell right with all the other SeaCrafts I have seen but then again maybe a late 70's or early 80's. Interested to hear as well what it may be.

the interesting thing is he includes a picture of the title paperwork and the HULL ID is SIC which is for Seacraft made during the Tracker era. But the year listed on the boat title work is 1974 which would have had an SEC Hull ID. Based on that alone I think the whole thing is fishy.

Seacraft sticker, somebody elses hull. The hull id info sounds like an intentional scammer.

Looks like a Fibra, Seaport or similar from the 1970s. Same mold was used by a whole bunch of companies.

SIC was not "Tracker Era"

Mcgullicuddy you nailed it! I did some looking after you said sportcraft and you are 100% correct. I like the hull not too crazy abt the OMC but we had one as a kid and it was ok. There is always the repower option. Or just keep it moving and look elsewhere.

You can't even give away a OMC stringer drive on the great lakes. The only advantage to a boat with an old stringer drive is that it makes the boat in most cases chep to buy.Nobody wants them.
Parts now are hard to get and the drive system will keep you pouring money into it to fix the frequent problems that will rear their ugly head.

Im pretty sure that sometime around 1985 or 1986 OMC replaced the stringer drive with their new "Cobra" drive system.Even that drive had problems for a couple years, and I think Omc gave owners of the new drive some extra warranty time until they got the problems ironed out.I bought a 23 1987 Trophy with a Cobra drive, and have to say that I never had any significant trouble with it.
I believe the early problems with the Cobra was in the shift cables. After the fix it was a pretty decent drive system...

If it's a project youre looking for, I think you'd be much better off paying a few bucks more for a real SeaCraft Even if you were to get this boat for free and even if the transom was just done and still solid (which is unlikely) you'll still have to replace it to get rid of that junk stringer drive to replace it with another system be it an I/O or outboard on a bracket. Not worth it imo.
Keep looking there are some reasonable seacrafts out there
