Does anybody just plug up the old, inefficient (and probably way undersized) scuppers and add 2 to 4 large, rectangular scuppers (with flaps), then drain the cockpit/deck area to a sump(s) with adequate pumps? Ideally, the bilge is tight and dry, you are only dealing with spray on the deck (while running), and the new, large scuppers would come into play when and if you took a wave or got pooped a little.
