Several years ago i bought a rebuilt 1997 Johnson 175 HP Ocean Runner. The guy would only warrantee it if I pre-mixed. He claimed that OMC's VRO killed many a good engine. I never found premix to be that bad, expect for two things.
1. Since I premixed at 50 to 1 the Johnson would smoke like a chimmney if I trolled with her a lot.
2. It forced me to only put in gas at good round numbers (like 25 or 50 gallons)
