Default Question about engine for 23 cc? Need help.

Hey guys

My brother posted on one of the other forums about this, but I wanted to post here because my guess is that more people check this forum....

We have a 23 cc that has a 250hp gas inboard, with a traditonal shaft setup (NOT stern drive), that we are in the process of repowering. We are trying to decide between a 220hp or 260hp Volvo inboard and are looking for any suggestions from you guys on what is a better engine size for this boat.

Would a 220hp be enough given that we have a traditional inboard setup (which is supposedly less efficient than a stern drive)? We would maybe need to upgrade the shaft if we go with the 260hp, so thats a factor in the decision, but that will not stop us from going with the 260hp if thats the right engine for us to have.

Thanks in advance for any help on this.
