Re: Is this a good deal?
Don't know what the reserve is but $1800 would be a good deal. IMHO that is the most versatile 20' SeaCraft model made. I've cruised mine extensively and that cabin is very useful and comfortable for sleeping. The only weakness I see is the motor although it sounds like it's ok with the good compression numbers. Doesn't say what year the motor is. To get the old 135 up to 140, they moved the rings closer to the top of the piston, which effectively changes the port timing, analogous to changing the cam on a 4-stroke. As a result, the top ring land is thin and they wouldn't tolerate much detonation, so a batch of low octane gas could quickly kill the engine. I'd definitely run high octane fuel in it, preferably non-ethanol. If you have to run ethanol fuel, get a test kit, and don't use any fuel higher than about 7-8% ethanol. The Stabil/Startron fuel stabilizers supposedly don't work very well if ethanol level is any higher than that.
