Mine originally had twins and the box is wider than the pic of yours looks. Maybe yours was a 454? Whatever, I completely agree, the extra space is wonderful. My starter is accessable, with effort. I checked carefully before I bought it. One of the few things I don't like about Septres is the narrow engine box. I have no idea how to change a starter in that one.
