Garmin Meteor Issues

I'm installing a Garmin 740 chartplotter/depthfinder, Meteor 300 and Remote for the Meteor. I'm having issues with the sNEMA 2000 system recognizing the Meteor 300 on displaying it on the 740 screen. Anyone installed the Meteor 300 and had any issues? The meteor is simply a black box radio - seemed like a good idea when I purchased it but now having second thoughts.
