I have a 14 x 17 on it now and it does a good job coming out the hole and at top end!
I think I have an original, 20" transom. I always keep it vented when it is on the trailer or on the lift in an effort to keep it as dry as possible! If I ever have to replace it, I will probably go to a 25" transom also!
As for fuel consumption, best guess is around 3 mpg. I got 5 mpg when this motor was on my Hydrostream and it would do 69+ knots or go too d#$& fast!
Hope this helps!
