Default Questions about a 1987 23' CC

Hi Gents-

I recently sold my 1991 Mako 201 and now have the opportunity to buy a 1987 Secraft 23' CC. The motor is halfway in the grave but the hull looks okay....Anything in particular that I should be aware of with this model? I know Mako's have transom, stringer, floor and gas tank concerns that one needs to check out....does the same apply to the 23' Seacraft.

Also, how are most guys handling the original 25" transom? Are you closing it off and adding a bracket (if so, are you running a 25" or 30" shaft) or are you fabricating a more hearty fiberglass motor well to replace the existing factory teak splashboard?

Thanks for all of your help. Great site!
