New Member from Cabo San Lucas
Hi - I just stumbled across your website last Friday and what a pleasant surprise. I own a 1978 23' SeaCraft Center Console, which I keep in Cabo San Lucas, MX. My SeaCraft is somewhat unique, I believe, because of the tower with double seat and full controls, and the large diesel engine. I retired and purchased the boat in Cabo about 9 years ago and repowered about 5 years ago with a 250 HP Turbo Cummins Diesel, which replaced the 135 HP original Volvo Diesel. This engine and its selected Hurth Trans.,created an even greater boat in pure power and economy. With the 100+gallons capacity, range is well over 200 miles.
I have been offshore on numerous occasions as much as 60 miles chasing porpoise to find Yellowfin, and far into the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific to look for Wahoo and Marlin, and although I have the utmost respect for mother nature, I never had to be seriously concerned about weather or winds. SeaCraft performance in heavy seas is, as you all know, excellent. However,in my vessel,I believe the extra weight of the tower and big diesel helps stabilize it even more when quartering or attacking facing seas, which makes for an even more comfortable and soft ride. My favorite pastime is captaining in the tower with the wind in my face, trolling for marlin or Wahoo and scouring the seas for marlin, fins, diving birds or surface action. It doesn't get any better. I now am registered on your website as Cabo Bob and will be happy to participate in SeaCraft revelry and accomplishments. In 2 weeks, I will be returning to Cabo from our home in Santa Barbara,CA, but will keep in touch with your site with our Cabo internet connection. Hats off to all SeaCraft owners and wanabees. Greetings To All, Cabo Bob |
