I'm the new proud owner of a 1971 Seafari 20' which has been completely restored as to finishes, hardware, wiring, tank, just about everything but using a rebuilt '87 Johnson 140 VRO for now.
Found a site that had for sale a magazine advertisement for the 1969 Seafari. From that, I learned that the original may have had two coolers, a working sink, an alcohol stove, and, as I've figured out, a porta-potti place. Also, it took a 47 gallon tank on the o/b version. (I learned that on the classicseacraft.com site.) 1. Does anyone maybe have any info or advice on how these options were configured into the original Seafari? Where was the water tank and sink, for example. 2. Secondly, we replaced the gummed-up gas tank with a custom-made one which supposedly just fits into the space available and appears to hold maybe 30 gallons. Here, I read that the o/b version should have room for a 47 gal. tank. Anybody have any help for me? I have some beautee-ful pics of this boat which I'll post here wherever it's allowed. Thanks, Rob |
